Games for FCE and CAE
Mike Astbury
This session will focus on a range of games and activities that provide engaging and motivating practice for the FCE and CAE exams, particularly Use of English. We will also look at enjoyable ways to help students learn and practise linking structures, register and descriptive language so they can integrate them into their speech and writing.

Mike began teaching when he volunteered in Myanmar and fell in love with the job. He’s since worked in England, the Czech Republic and Poland for International House. He makes new materials with a focus on game design and releases them on his blog: www.mikeastbury.wordpress.com

“Once upon a writing task…”
John Conniffe
In this session we will explore and demonstrate ways to approach Cambridge Exam writing tasks through a set of communicative and learner-centred activities. While fun, engaging and promoting peer-learning and learner confidence, these activities will also aid exam candidates to develop their brainstorming skills, their awareness of the need for upgrading language and proof-reading and their competence with process writing.

John gained his CELTA qualification in 2006, and since then has taught in Germany, Ireland, Portugal and Poland. He is currently Senior Teacher at International House Toruń.

Exploiting the Internet for Cambridge exams
Sandy Millin
The Internet has a wealth of resources available to support teachers, but sometimes it can be challenging to know which websites are worth your time. Sandy will introduce a range of blogs and webinars which you can exploit to find extra ideas for your exam classes.

Sandy is the Director of Studies at IH Bydgoszcz, a CELTA trainer and a materials writer. She is passionate about professional development, and writes about it on her blog at http://sandymillin.wordpress.com . She has recently published an e-book called ‘Richer Speaking’, available via www.the-round.com .

Trust the experts in exams for better success with Cambridge English materials
Rafał Maliszewski
Cambridge English First and Cambridge English Advanced, are the exams that have changed most recently. And in 2018 other Cambridge English exams will get revised as well. Wouldn’t it be good then to use most up-to-date resources and official exam preparation materials that guarantee success with Cambridge English exams?

Rafał is English Teacher and  Regional Language Consultant for Cambridge University Press ELT

International House World Organisation

Łączy w sobie logikę i konsekwencję z pasją i spontanicznością. Pracowało nad nią wielu nauczycieli, lingwistów i metodyków. Pierwsze z nich przeprowadzono właśnie w IH w 1962 roku. Nadal kształcimy tysiące nauczycieli, którzy są cenionymi w świecie profesjonalistami.
